Fantastic #freefrom cafe in Stafford – The Mad Hatter’s Tea Emporium

This place is amazing. If you’re travelling to Stafford and have allergies or are a coeliac you MUST visit for lunch.

It’s a lovely, homely, friendly, family-run cafe who were proudly displaying their certificate for their Shortlisting in the FreeFrom Eating out Awards. These guys were winners in my book and I was winning all round.

My friend Tanith discovered this place for me and I was so completely bowled over by the whole meal. For my main I had a very simple but scrummy bubble and squeak. I could never normally order a meal like this without worrying but the whole menu is gluten free. They cooked all the food from scratch and completely understood allergies.

Really tasty Bubble and Squeak, ham and egg for main #glutenfree #dairyfree #soyafree #nutfree

Just look at that perfect runny egg. Mmmmmm.

And the cake! I’d travel all the way to Stafford just for their cakes. I could try FOUR of the cakes so I had to have the chocolate one, tasted Tanith’s Lemon Drizzle and immediately had a huge case of cake envy, and took a box with some of the sponge home with me.

There were FOUR cakes i could try here - all #glutenfree #dairyfree #soyafree #nutfree

All the cakes were also wheat, gluten, soya and nut free! I’ve never seen so much selection of cakes in a cafe. You had to be quick. The one I had my eye on was snaffled by the lady before me in the queue who bought the whole cake! There were some cakes that were also egg free too so there really is something for everyone.
I’m sure I also spottee some freefrom scones but we didn’t have room for a cream tea 🙂

Thank Tanith for taking me and thank you to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Emporium for feeding me. I loved it!

I really did feel like Alice in Wonderland. The decor was really fun with quirky tablecloths and the perfect pretty plates, cups and saucers, that made for brilliant food photography!

Please suport these guys. If you’re in Stafford you’ll find them on 5 Princes Street, Stafford, ST16 2BN. I can’t find a website but they’re on Trip Adviser with very good reviews. Top marks to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Emporium 10/10.

Has anyone else been? What did you have?
