I have to admit that apart from some digestive discomfort, my children never had any health issues when they were babies. At one point, I thought my son might of had eczema when he was 3 months old, but my family doctor confirmed that it was only very dry skin and a heat rash. His skin was red with little bumps. She described eczema as red with crusty patches on the skin, and very itchy. She recommended that I apply a moisturizing cream twice a day to help regain the moisture in his skin. I think the humidity in our house was low, causing dry air in January, which resulted in dry skin.
As soon as we left the physician’s office, I went to purchase the AVEENO® Baby Daily Lotion and AVEENO® Baby Soothing Bath Treatment for him. Both products helped relieve his dry skin. I already applied their daily moisturizing lotion to my skin with great results; therefore, I knew this company was definitely trustworthy, genuine, and credible. To this day, I still purchase their body care products for my family. They really help in providing relief of the chapping and scaling caused by dry skin. I like Aveeno® products because they are made with natural oatmeal and rich emollients that relieve dry skin, and are also non-greasy and won’t clog pores.
If your baby has been diagnosed with eczema, did you know that Aveeno also makes Baby
Eczema products? This baby skin care line was developed by dermatologists and formulated with the •ACTIVE NATURALS® which contains colloidal oatmeal, and has NO steroid or fragrance. It’s made with pure oat essence and ceramides to restore the baby’s skin natural moisture barrier. Eczema is caused when the body doesn’t make enough ceramides. They are the fatty cells that help provide the barrier protection to the skin. The AVEENO® Baby cream helps to reduce the itching and irritation of eczema as well as protect eczema prone skin while being gentle enough for your baby’s sensitive skin.
- Moisturizing Cream ~ soothes and moisturizes to help care for your baby’s delicate skin with eczema.
- Body Wash ~ gently cleanses without damaging the skin‘s barrier and is clinically shown to be mild enough for baby’s delicate skin with eczema.
To help treat your baby’s eczema while bathing him/her you should use lukewarm water and not hot, no more than 10 minutes, to help keep the protective oils of your baby’s skin. You shouldn’t rub your baby’s skin after bath, but rather pat, then promptly apply the Aveeno® Moisturizing Cream.
It’s nice to know that you can count on Aveeno® ACTIVE NATURALS® to relieve your baby’s dry skin and eczema!
