What Can Cure Eczema Naturally – Best Home Remedies For Eczema And Dermatitis

Featured

http://www.CureMyCondition.com/eczemaremedy What can cure eczema permanently? Scientific evidence has shown that the only way Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis) can be cured permanently, is if it is treated at the ROOT cause as an immune system disease, not merely a skin condition.

It is unfortunate that most conventional medical treatments for eczema are still ONLY focused on masking the symptoms of eczema (the itchy rash, red hot flare ups, dry flaky skin), rather than treating the root cause of it which is actually caused by your body’s overactive T Helper Cells (CD4 Cells).

I will not bore you by going too in depth with these medical jargons, but in summary, your CD4 cells are responsible for roaming your body and once they spot a foreign invader, they will summon Killer T Cells (CD8 Cells) which will attack the invaders. These cells are very important for our immune system to keep us safe from harmful bacteria and viruses.

However, in people with Eczema like me and you, our CD4 Cells sometimes detects our own body’s skin cells as a foreign invader. They then summon the CD8 Cells to attack our skin, causing our eczema symptoms like itchiness, red hot flare ups etc. Certain food and environmental conditions such as seafood and pollen may also act as aggravators or triggers to our eczema flare ups.

The current standard acceptable medical treatment for eczema are corticosteroids (oral steroids or topical steroid creams and ointments), antihistamines, topical calcineurin inhibitors (pimecrolimus, tacrolimus) and emollients.

The major problem with most of these drugs especially the corticosteroids are that when used long term and in young children, they can cause steroid dependence eczema or topical steroid addition. And if oral or topical steroid are stopped, the patient will go through steroid withdrawal symptoms which can be very unbearable because the body’s adrenal function and cortisol hormone production has been compromised by prolonged usage of topical corticosteroids. This has been a major concern for parents and doctors when treating eczema patients (especially in babies and toddlers) with corticosteroids for long periods of more than 2 weeks. In these cases, steroids should not be stopped abruptly, but should be tapered off slowly because as the body’s adrenal glands need time to return to normal secretion patterns.

I myself have also depended on topical steroid creams since I was 6 years old, and I just coudln’t live without them because that was the only thing that worked to suppress my eczema itchiness and flare ups. During my teens I suffered from severe acne on my face, which was a side effect of my long term usage of steroid creams. I have since tapered off my steroid cream usage and am now not dependant on any steroid creams at all. I instead chose the natural approach to cure my eczema from within my own body (I find it so weird that my doctors used to tell me eczema is not curable). I have to admit it wasn’t easy at first when I was going through my steroid withdrawal phase, but I’m so glad I did it and am completely healthy and free from steroids now.

This is why I highly recommend every eczema sufferer like myself to take the natural approach and stop relying on corticosteroids because it does alot of damage to our body’s natural adrenal hormone gland system which causes our entire hormonal function to go haywire.

The natural eczema treatment program that I followed was Eczema Free Forever by Rachel Anderson. She was also an eczema sufferer herself and also used this natural approach to permanently cure her son Samuel from eczema. You can read more about her experience and learn how she did it at

Eczema – Let me review your treatment options

Featured

Eczema has many different causes and, for that reason, you will find many treatment options. Although some treatments may prove unsuccessful for you, others are likely to work. If you suffer from eczema, you want relief. In fact, you wanted it yesterday. So, when it comes to seeking relief, what are your options?

Eczema Treatments to Stop the Itch

Moisturizers. There are many trigger factors that bring on the itching that results in an eczema rash; however, dry skin is a common cause. We automatically want to touch and itch dry skin to provide relief, only some individuals can’t stop. The more moisturized your skin is, the less likely you are to scratch it. Keep the body moisturized throughout the day. Get started by locking in the moisture with lotions or creams immediately following a shower or bath.

Antihistamines. Antihistamines are used to treat allergy symptoms, including rashes, hives, and itching. Since eczema involves constant itching of the skin, itch relief is felt with antihistamines. This type of eczema treatment is effective because, in a way, your skin is having an allergic reaction to something it came into contact to, whether it be makeup, perfume, or laundry detergent.

Eczema Treatment to Protect the Skin from Infection

Skin protectants. Skin protectors are used to describe a number of different products. A few good examples include petroleum jelly. Popular products used by eczema patients are Vaseline and Eucerin Aquaphor. They are healing ointments that protect irritated, cracked, and dry skin.

Eczema Treatments to Stop Skin Infections

Antibiotics. Most individuals can treat their eczema from home. In fact, you are encouraged to do so. However, eczema presents the risk of other complications, including skin infections. When a sufferer continues to itch and scratch, an open wound may form on the skin. If not treated, this sore is at risk for infection. If you suspect you have a skin infection, seek medical attention from a professional. To prevent the infection from getting worse, a medical professional will prescribe antibiotics.

Eczema treatments come in many formats, but the treatment options discussed are proven successful among many and are easy to implement. Don’t live with pain, discomfort, or embarrassment any longer. Seek relief today.

There are no cures for eczema, only managements. Here are a list of dos and don’ts:

Things not to do:-

Don’t use biological powders

Don’t use fabric softeners

Don’t use soap or detergents to wash with

Don’t use standard shower gels or bath additives

Things to do :-

Try Fairy Snow -the old fashioned powder

Use dryer balls

Use a soap free cleanser to wash hands etc.

Use a moisturising shower gel like Oilatum

Use a moisture bath additive like Aveeno

Use a good moisturiser like Aveeno

Use it very frequently, you can’t over-moisturise!

Use antihistamines for itch, a non sedative one like loratidine in the morning and a sedative one such piriton at night.

You may need to use steroids creams/ointments for flare up areas. Use the mildest you can, for the shortest time possible.

Sorry if you knew all of that already :-(

My eldest son used to have eczema when he was a baby/toddler.

Some things which can help:

Adding Sea Salt to the water – make sure the baby doesn’t drink any though.

Aveeno Cream in the UK is very good – ask your doctor to prescribe it.

Adding Oatmeal to the bathwater – put some into a muslin bag and tie with string – run it under the bathwater.

Hydrocortisone 1% for flare ups – it won’t cause skin damage or ill effects so don’t be worried about using this.

Rinse her clothes out twice in the washing machine – even so-called ‘mild’ washing powders are full of irritating chemicals. The best one I found was called Ecover – when I started using this his eczema reduced by about 70%! They do a bio and a non-bio – both powder and liquid form.

Wet wrapping technique for severe areas – look up the technique on Google. It’s easy – you do it after bathing each night and leave on overnight.

Oilatum isn’t that much good, but you can carry on using it if you like.

The doctor will try to fob you off with cr@p such as Aqueous cream etc. Most of the stuff they prescribe is just cheap stuff and it won’t do much good. I used to use tons of their stuff and it never did any good at all. The Aveeno cream was good though.

You’ll just have to experiment with different things. Sometimes I’d hit on something really effective, but it would only last for a few months then it would stop working.

They do tend to grow out of it, so try not to worry.

Hi Zoe,

There are three main types of eczema: atopic, seborrhoeic and contact dermatitis.

Atopic Eczema

Atopy runs in families and is a sign of an overactive immune system. Associated with children, sufferers often have hay fever and asthma too. It is a dry, hot and itchy skin inflammation found mainly around the knees, wrists, neck and bends of the elbow as well as the face and eyelids. It begins usually in the first few months of life but for most will clear before puberty.

Seborrhoeic Eczema

Found mainly on the scalp, face, in the groin and armpits where grease glands are in greater number – it affects adults predominantly and can range from mild (flaky skin) to severe (itchy, oily, inflamed skin). It is caused by an overgrowth of a harmless yeast called Pityrosporum.

Contact Dermatitis

This is caused by contact with a substance that produces either an irritant or an allergic reaction. Common irritants, responsible for around 80% of cases, are soap, detergents and food. Allergic contact dermatitis is caused by a hypersensitivity to a substance and will appear wherever skin comes into contact with it. Allergies to rubber, skin medications, hairdressing chemicals and fragrances are particularly common.

There is a website dedicated to eczema which I have included the link below. There is also a website that retails the range of products found on this website which I have also included below. Here are some of the comments that users of the Allergenics range of products:

“My son was getting really bad eczema at the back of his knees and on his arms and it took ages for it to settle before using this ointment. It works really well and you don’t need to put loads on. Recommended”

“My skin has become very dry and sensitive since becoming pregnant and allergenics skin lotion is the only moisturiser I have found that sooths my skin and stops it itching – excellent stuff!”

“Already the dry sore skin below my eyes and on my neck is fading and feels more comfortable. I have very senstive skin and I am very wary of the normal cosmetic products…. which caused this problem in the first place!”

“My son has eczema and this cream has helped keep it under control. It has lasted longer than I thought it would as I don’t need to put a lot on. I would recommend it to everyone.”

“My husband was given cream for a skin complaint, it only made the condition worse. As we were on holiday in Torquay & the skin was much worse I found your cream in a chemist. It started to heal the skin allmost immediately. I am more than pleased to reccommend this to anyone A Aldridge”

From ?: Difference Between Eczema And Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin disease that occurs when cells in the outer layer of skin reproduce faster than normal and pile up on the skin’s surface. This produces scaling, itchiness and irritation of the skin. Psoriasis is non-contagious.

Currently in the United States almost 5 million people are affected by this disease. It occurs in all age groups and about equally in men and women.

When psoriasis develops, thick patches of skin become red with silvery scales. Often the skin at the joints cracks making outbreak very painful. Psoriasis most often occurs on the knees, lower back, soles of the feet, scalp, elbows, face and palm.

There have been huge strides in understanding what causes psoriasis. Recently, a team from the University of Michigan looked for the gene — called PSORS1 — in more than 2,700 people from 678 families in which at least one family member had psoriasis. According to the researchers, PSORS1 is the first genetic determinant of psoriasis to be definitively identified in a large clinical trial. The finding may help in the development of new, more effective treatments for the disfiguring inflammatory skin disease.

Some other research has found that psoriasis may be a disorder of the immune system. In a normal immune system a type of white blood cell, called a T cell is produced, that normally helps protect the body against infection and disease. Top Scientists have concluded that an abnormal immune system produces too many T cells in the skin. These excess T cells trigger the inflammation and excessive skin cell reproduction seen in people who suffer with psoriasis.

Doctors usually diagnose psoriasis after a careful examination of the skin. However, diagnosis may be difficult because psoriasis often looks like other skin diseases. A pathologist may assist with diagnosis by examining a small skin sample under a microscope.

What’s the difference between eczema and atopic dermatitis?

Eczema is a general term encompassing various inflamed skin conditions. One of the most common forms of eczema is atopic dermatitis (or “atopic eczema”). Approximately 10 percent to 20 percent of the world population is affected by this chronic, relapsing, and very itchy rash at some point during childhood. Fortunately, many children with eczema find that the disease clears and often disappears with age.

In general, atopic dermatitis will come and go, often based on external factors. Although its cause is unknown, the condition appears to be an abnormal response of the body’s immune system. In people with eczema, the inflammatory response to irritating substances overacts, causing itching and scratching. Eczema is not contagious and, like many diseases, currently cannot be cured. However, for most patients the condition may be managed well with treatment and avoidance of triggers.

What does eczema look and feel like?

Although eczema may look different from person to person, it is most often characterized by dry, red, extremely itchy patches on the skin. Eczema is sometimes referred to as “the itch that rashes,” since the itch, when scratched, results in the appearance of the rash.

Eczema can occur on just about any part of the body; however, in infants, eczema typically occurs on the forehead, cheeks, forearms, legs, scalp, and neck. In children and adults, eczema typically occurs on the face, neck, and the insides of the elbows, knees, and ankles. In some people, eczema may “bubble up” and ooze. In others, the condition may appear more scaly, dry, and red. Chronic scratching causes the skin to take on a leathery texture because the skin thickens (lichenification).

I’m the same way :/

I know it’s really annoying and stressful. Mine’s actually gotten better in the past couple months becasue i quit school and now do homeschooling. The biggest thing that triggered my eczema was being stressed all the time. So trying to cut out things that make you stressed might help. The biggest thing is not using products to irritate it. Shampoos soaps and lotions can be killer on your skin, you need to find some without crazy fragrances. You might want to try Eucerin, it’s really gentle and doesn’t have fragrance. The thing that helps me most when it’s gotten really bad, is put the cream steroids on every night until it totally goes away while taking benadryl every night. Benadryl helps it stop from itching and burning from the medication.

The other thing is i’ve noticed that when i eat certain foods my eczema acts up more. Sine eczema is basically an allergic reaction you want to try to stay away from things you’re allergic to. Like grass, dirt, ect.

Hope i helped, goodluck! If you ever want to talk more about it you can just email me. :)
